I’ve Fallen Into The Society Trap & Want to GET OUT! – Great Joe Rogan Video
Joe Rogan’s video presents a brutally honest perspective of a ‘society trap’ that so many people unknowingly fall into.
You may find his views extreme, but if you’ve ever been in a job that failed to support the notion of letting you live and work on your own terms, then you will relate to his candid narrative.
Watch the video and you’ll get uncomfortable by the similarities between what he says and your own life. — perhaps?
Can you relate to some of what Joe Says?
Have you fallen into a trap?
Even a tiny itty-bitty trap is still a trap.
I’ve taken the liberty of transcribing parts of the video into a condensed, easier to read blog format, highlighting key points. The best way grasp message is to sit back, watch the video enjoy!
I don’t buy the idea that the way society is right now is the way it has to be.
I don’t buy idea that someone always has to work at …say Burger King or McDonald’s.
People are pretty flexible and if you look at the broad spectrum of humans and human behaviour from different cultures all over the world, its pretty obvious that there’s a lot of different ways that people connect.
We don’t have to have fast food workers, we don’t we don’t have to have people who work shit jobs.
We just have to figure out how to restructure society so everybody somehow or another plays a part and has something to contribute, has something share.
That’s what the real society supposed to be like.
I’ll give you some coconuts, you give me some fish and we make a deal back-and-forth, left and right.
Society gets wrapped around becoming a part of the machine instead of becoming a bunch of individuals expressing themselves in unique ways where everybody borrows and shares.
We’ve gotten sidetracked and diverted into these boxes called corporations. Stuck in these container like cubicles or offices.
We’re forced into this system whereby instead of making pottery or fixing cars or doing what you have a passion for everybody shows up doing something they don’t want to do.
You’ve lost the connection and sold your life to sit in a box and work for a machine that demands productivity, does not understand you and does not want to understand you.
So GET IT TOGETHER……and this is your life now. No natural behaviour, everybody’s wearing closing they don’t want to wear. Everybody’s showing up and doing something they don’t want to do. They have no connection to it and that’s the problem with our society.
And then what’s the reward for this stuff? Go home and get a big TV going. Get a shiny belt buckle. Get a nice purse. Wear shoes that you could not afford last week. Get that dream car.
Every week we’re chasing down this new object and every week and we’re trying to fill this hole and sad shadow of a life we’ve been left with after work.
You’ve worked 8 hours or whatever hours a day, plus commuting and that is your life, that’s your real fucking life! All that other stuff is not your life anymore, all that other stuff is work.
Some of us understand it’s a trap and we’ve gotten out of it!
But for most people they don’t even understand it’s a trap. They just think it’s a good job because they get dental.
The reality is that you are just a piece of a heartless shitty machine that makes money.
Deep down inside you know that you and others like you have the capacity to build a life that matters, to develop the right kind of personal and professional relationships you deserve. It’s about doing what it takes to live life on your own terms and the terms of those near and dear to you – to be doer, a giver, a creator, a leader, a mentor, a collaborator and a bit of a challenger of the status quo along the way.
